Being a part of Mu has given me the opportunity to create ever lasting bonds with amazing strong women, who empower me to strive each day. This organization has helped me become the young lady I am today, and I could never be thankful enough for being part of an amazing chapter but most importantly the best sisterhood.

Power, Respect, Womanhood.  I know in my heart I have been placed in this world to impact lives and Mu reassured this for me. When I first became a Mu a member faculty saw it in me to assign me a life goal of starting my own Center for Young Ladies in Urban Cities. Without Mu, I would've never have the fire to want to do this for another person. I have gained a sense of respect for myself and others, especially women. Because of Mu I've realized that I have to be loyal to my own kind before anyone else. You are nothing without knowing who you are first - a woman. As a 21-year-old soon to embark on my alumni journey I am more sure about myself than ever and I can thank Mu for a part of this. Mu has made me a revolutionary in heels and I plan to continue to create a path to lead myself and those around me to greatness.

Being a sister has been the best part of my college experience. I have created lifetime relationships with those within the organization and also those in others. I'm proud to be a member of an organization that has taught me how to be a more confident and powerful woman. I will forever be eternally grateful for my experiences as a sister. The best part is this is still only the beginning, this sisterhood is for a lifetime and I look forward to a life full of memories.

Before attending college, I envisioned myself being in a sorority that all my sisters were of different cultural backgrounds similar to the club in high school. When I met the sisters of Mu Sigma Upsilon Sorority, Inc. I knew that I had found the perfect sorority. It was so perfect that even if someone asked me to create my own sorority, it would be an exact duplicate of Mu Sigma Upsilon. I loved their goals and the ladies that were on campus. I wanted to join their multicultural movement of uniting all women together regardless of race, religion, or creed. Most importantly, I wanted to be around women like myself who empowered each other, independent and self-motivated. When I became a sister that is exactly what I gained. I gained real sisterhood, i learned so much about various cultures, I was able to get a job as soon as I graduated from a sister of Rutgers University who pledged in 1988, I learned how to be strong in the most difficult moments but above all, I gained confidence.

Being a sister of MSU means a lot much more to me than I would ever be able to explain in words. Being surrounded by strong, independent women helped me mold my demeanor to portray just that. I've met some of my closest friends which I consider family through this chapter and have formed lifetime bonds with people that I know will always be there no matter what.
